a prayer…

April 26, 2008 – 11:07 am
the spiral continues to quicken, the signs are everywhere. take, for instance, the Beatles' Yellow Submarine. attacks from love-hating conformists lead to the activation of ancient space/time/consciousness travel technology in the form of a giant ufo that only some people are able to notice flying over the city. it then becomes the task of a few free thinking individuals to reignite the human spark and restore love and color to a world that's been drained of happiness and zest. along the way, they experience drastic changes in the way they perceive time. “it’s all in the mind.” this matrix is falling down. as the spiral tightens on madness and the false precepts of order unravel, the war machines tighten their grasp. don't be fooled. this pain, the dispair of nations and believers fighting over the right way to be yourself are merely the horrors of birth. life is about to really ...

The Agency; after the grand opening

April 15, 2008 – 6:47 pm
The grand opening of The Agency was the beginning of something new in Albuquerque. It was the beginning of a music scene that does not need to thrive on the belief that music is simply a throwaway commodity. It showed that art, music and community can come together for something new. The Agency's Grand Opening was on March 29th, and featured live performances by Supergiant and The Old Main (two of the fan-voted best bands in Albuquerque), as well as brian botkiller. The entire night was illustrated by visuals by Local VJ Panopticon, and the space was made beautiful by the hard work of the Agency team and Nick Harmon of Fhab Concepts. The Old Main opened the night with their unique and original sound of Americana, blues and folk. Then brian botkiller dropped an impromptu hour and a half DJ and live set, giving the ...

An Ancient Agency - by liveworld

April 8, 2008 – 5:08 pm

Tripl3Tone Studios - Producing the Best Band in Albuquerque

April 3, 2008 – 4:09 pm
Hell yeah! - SuperGiant was voted best band in Burque by Alibi readers and we just we finished their new album up today! To celebrate this time of rock, I thought I'd share a little bit about the recording process (more about the technical side, and less about the, well, WWM) on their new album "Antares" scheduled to drop soon. Recording: We blocked out SFCS's Studio A to track drums, bass, scratch guitar, and scratch vocals. Our goal was to get the best drum sound we could, and hands down, the live room over there at SFCS rocks! It provides a huge, organic, maleable sound that can be mixed in many ways. Doug's drum mic'ing technique is really unique in a way that he mics up the kit as ONE instrument. He still puts 12-16 mics on the kit, but it's recorded as one beast... this proves very very nice in ambient ...

First post for the agency

March 19, 2008 – 7:39 pm
Hi, I'm Brian, and I'm happy to be writing the first post on The Agency's blog.  The Agency is going to be Albuquerque's new outlet for art, music, music production and new media.  It will be different from the other venues around it, yet it will meld with those venues and help to create an interactive community. Stay tuned for more information as it comes... we're almost there!
